AI for School Students
An AI Learning Studio for Classes 6–10
Help your child move from using AI to understanding & creating it. Hands-on learning in Artificial Intelligence, Coding, Logic & Creativity – designed especially for Indian school students.
Ideal for curious students in Classes 6–10 who love gadgets, games, maths, science or simply asking “Why?”.
PhD in Computer Science – IIT Ropar
Ex–AI Engineer, CoreCLM, Seattle (Legal NLP)
Data Science Head – HCL–GUVI
“I have worked on legal AI systems in CoreCLM that read complex contracts, and built educational AI tools in India used by thousands of learners. AI Kids Lab brings that real-world experience to school students – in a playful, safe and inspiring way.”
Who is behind AI Initiative for Students?
A blend of Indian academic excellence, global AI industry experience and a strong passion for student-centric learning.
Dr. Amit Arjun Verma is a Computer Science researcher and AI practitioner who has been working at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, NLP, and Education.
After completing his PhD from IIT Ropar, Amit worked in Seattle at a company called CoreCLM, where he solved Legal NLP problems – teaching AI systems to read, understand and summarise complex legal contracts and clauses.
Currently, as Data Science Head at HCL–GUVI, he leads the design of AI & Data Science courses, builds educational AI applications, conducts hackathons, and mentors learners across India.
- IIT Ropar (PhD in Computer Science) – Research on efficient methods to store and analyse large-scale Wikipedia revision histories for AI & analytics.
- CoreCLM, Seattle – Built AI models that understand legal documents, contracts and obligations using advanced NLP techniques.
- HCL–GUVI (Data Science Head) – Designing AI curricula, industry projects and applications that help thousands of Indian students and professionals learn AI hands-on.
What this means for your child
AI Kids Lab is not just another coding class. It is a carefully designed space where students:
- Learn AI from someone who has actually built AI products for global companies
- See how AI is used in law, education, business and everyday life
- Get exposure to real-world stories (e.g., how AI reads contracts)
- Are encouraged to ask questions, create projects and think independently
Why should school students learn AI?
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 encourages schools to build computational thinking, creativity, problem-solving and digital literacy. AI Kids Lab is designed exactly with these goals in mind.
Stronger Thinking Skills
AI projects naturally develop:
- Logical & structured thinking
- Pattern recognition & reasoning
- Problem solving through experiments
Creativity with Technology
Students use AI to:
- Create stories, art & quizzes
- Build mini-games & chatbots
- Combine Maths, Science and Language with AI
Safe & Responsible AI Use
We also teach:
- What AI can & cannot do
- Ethical and safe AI usage
- Digital discipline & critical thinking
What will students learn at AI Kids Lab?
A multi-level journey from foundations to real mini-projects, mapped to NEP 2020’s 21st–century skills.
AI & Logic Foundations
- What is AI? Everyday examples (phones, games, recommendations)
- Fun unplugged activities (logic puzzles, pattern games)
- Visual coding with Scratch for kids
- Basic algorithms: sequences, conditions & loops
- Activity: “If I were a robot” – students design rule-based systems
Suitable even for students with no coding background.
Python & AI Concepts
- Python basics – variables, loops, conditions in a child-friendly way
- What is data? How machines “learn” from examples
- Playful introductions to image / text classification ideas
- Mini projects: quiz maker, maths helper, vocabulary assistant
- Concept: How tools like ChatGPT or legal AI (like in CoreCLM) use text data
Makes abstract AI ideas understandable with stories & demos.
Real-World Mini AI Projects
- Chatbot for school subjects (e.g., science helper)
- AI story / poem generator for creative writing
- Mini image classifier (e.g. fruits vs. veggies, shapes, signs)
- Smart quiz generator for tests & revision
- AI Art experiments with prompts and style ideas
Students finish with a small portfolio to showcase in school fairs & competitions.
Batch Details & Format
Designed for busy school schedules, with small batches and high interaction.
Batch Structure
- Target Group: Students from Class 6 to Class 10 (CBSE / ICSE / State boards)
- Mode: Hybrid – Live Online + Offline (where available)
- Batch Size: Small groups (max 8–10 students) for personalised attention
- Schedule: Weekend & evening batches to avoid school clashes
- Pedagogy: Activity-based, project-centric, not exam coaching
- Certification: AI Kids Lab completion certificate
What Students Take Away
- Confidence with coding and AI concepts
- Improved logical & analytical thinking
- A portfolio of small AI projects they can show teachers & relatives
- Early understanding of modern careers like AI Engineer, Data Scientist, etc.
- Awareness of how AI is used in fields like law, education, business & more
Many students continue to build on these skills in higher classes (11–12, B.Tech, etc.) – this is an early foundation.
